Business Systems Administrator

Job #2210: Chameleon Technologies is searching for a Business Systems Administrator for an FTE position in Kent, WA. Our client provides specialized surface treatments, chemical finishing and non-destructive testing to the aerospace and defense industries. They hold processing approvals for every major airframe manufacturer, and process parts for a base of over 600 customers worldwide.

Job Summary:

The Business Systems Administrator role is to develop new technology solutions to enable business growth and innovation and to enhance efficiencies in current ERP (Syteline), SharePoint and other business critical software systems. Also, to support requirements for integration, reporting, and data integrity.

  • Serve as a focal point with overall responsibility for Syteline ERP and other business system
  • Troubleshoot Syteline errors and performance issues as they arise
  • Evaluate, enhance, maintain and support current technology solutions
  • Update, document and maintain all internal procedures related to the use of Syteline and other business systems
  • Analyze business requirements. Develop, update, and maintain business systems according to requirements and which improve operating efficiencies
  • Perform system testing of software applications to ensure data integrity, and user acceptance of final product
  • Test and the install new releases and modules as required
  • Responsible for daily maintenance and monitoring of Syteline to ensure data integrity and uptime. Including backup, recovery, and user access management
  • Collaborate with all departments ranging from Management to Shop Personnel
  • Train new users/existing users
  • Maintain and manage all business unit databases
  • Identify areas for improvement within the existing business processes
  • Ensure that workarounds and changes to the service operation are communicated
  • Supporting the organizational vision and mission
  • To promote the use of standards across the Enterprise using ITIL methodologies
  • To promote the use of change management and configuration control to maintain the integrity of the data
  • Ensuring that governance and legislative controls are applied correctly and properly within the business unit
  • IT General Controls for SOX

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and business managers
  • Work with other company business units using Syteline to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection, security and integrity of data assets

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts

Operational Management

  • Respond to and resolve business systems support issues
  • Monitor business systems performances, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements
  • Create, or support creation of, required reports in response to business user needs
  • Perform business systems security audits
  • Establish appropriate end-user business systems access control levels
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team

Education/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • BA or BS in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years of Experience in Syteline ERP is preferred
  • Knowledge of the following disciplines: Syteline ERP, SharePoint, MS SQL Server, Reporting tools. (Crystal Reports, SSRS), .NET, XML, SQL Server, System Integration
  • Good understanding of Syteline business processes.  You have already developed business processes using the Syteline ERP in a multi-site environment
  • Knowledge of SQL Server administration and management
  • Experience using development tools such as Visual Studio, SSMS
  • Must have intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of IT General Controls as it relates to SOX audits
  • Troubleshooting experience
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work without direct supervision
