Job #2505: Chameleon Technologies is looking for a Hardware Test Engineer to develop and execute system level optical testing.  This resource should have extensive hardware test experience with consumer electronics products; with experience testing optical hardware a big plus.  This position is within a small, highly skilled team of optical development and test engineers working on products at the leading edge of optical design.  Team members are cross-trained in all aspects of optical test, so must be willing to think creatively and work diligently to evolve new skills.  The ability to communicate well with other team members and pitch in to support overall team goals is crucial.  This is a contract role in Redmond, WA.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Typical task breakdown and rhythm- Design verification testing process works in preparation, validation and then testing process
  • Test execution of optical hardware test cases with minimal supervision
  • Interaction with the team, you will own running tests on potentially multiple platforms

 

SKILLS:

  • Motivated, communicates well, and able to work independently with minimal supervision towards defined task milestones within a team environment
  • Good organizational skills and capable of managing multiple simultaneous tasks effectively
  • Familiar with typical lab equipment, including thermal chambers, stepper motors, thermocouples, and lighting controllers
  • Good writing skills.
  • Capable of performing data analysis, generate bugs, and write test reports
  • Familiarity with optical hardware and optical testing techniques a big plus
  • Experience with Matlab, C++, scripting programs, statistical analysis, and mechanical aptitude all pluses

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Optical Test Engineer background
  • Automation experience (fundamental debugging skills and ability to troubleshoot)
  • 3 years experience in lab/test type work
  • Experience developing optical test systems involving motion control, image acquisition and image processing/analysis
  • Knowledge of Colorimetry, Photometry and Image Quality testing
  • Experience using and interfacing to light measurement equipment
  • Experience developing image processing and image analysis
  • Familiar with optical design concepts and theory required
  • Experience with Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, Statistical analysis, highly desired
  • C++, and mechanical aptitude all pluses
  • Must have good communication, reporting and presentation skills
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision towards defined tasks within a team environment
  • Good organizational skills and capability managing multiple simultaneous tasks effectively
  • Degrees or certifications required- Degree in Engineering
