We value Transparency, Integrity, User Focus, Nerdy Passion, Collaboration, and Curious Creativity.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Vice President of Product Management who can help drive the future of our SAAS software platforms with the goal of increasing the profitability and revenue retention of existing products and development of new product revenue; with a strong focus on customers and data driven planning and decision making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Revenue Initiatives
- Partner with the Customers, Industry, internal stakeholders and sister companies to identify revenue generating opportunities based on current and future customer needs
- Identify, qualify and prioritize list of potential revenue generating Initiatives (new products, add on sale items, increase in price with increase in value) with ultimate goal to create a pipeline of revenue generating initiatives at various stages of execution
- Build business case for each Initiative, including pricing and pro-forma financials; generate buy in from all stake holders
- Product Roadmap and Vision:
- Lead product vision, strategic direction and pricing strategies that incorporate new revenue initiatives, customer satisfaction drivers, and technical debt. Never losing sight of the need to build customer centric products.
- Be able to articulate the “why” and be able to advocate with a wide variety of stakeholders and executives for your vision.
- Build alignment between company objectives and the product roadmap by prioritizing requests to meet objectives and end user needs.
- Partner with all departments and stakeholders to develop the strategy and execute company-wide go-to-market plans
- Conduct technical, competitive, and trend analysis to identify and evaluate potential products.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to measure whether teams are progressing towards the right product vision.
- Develop relationships with industry thought leaders, key customers, and partners.
- Execution:
- Work closely with business leaders and groups, and with product and engineering leadership to plan, prioritize, scope, and deliver on the product roadmap, balancing scope, cost, and quality to maximize ROI.
- Have strong working knowledge of business operations and customer needs and be able to translate these user needs and requirements into high value products (both for internal and external uses).
- Know when you need to roll up your sleeves and dig in alongside your team, and when to monitor work in flight from afar.
- Have a strong point of view on how engineering work gets done in the most efficient and effective way without injection of bureaucratic process.
- Ensure a “fail fast” execution methodology that allows us to build minimum viable products and do market testing so that we can try lots of ideas quickly. Be data focused and AB test oriented when it comes to feature development.
- Understand legal, regulatory, security, and compliance issues associated with product feature development to properly apply them.
- Customer Relationships:
- Know our customers better than they know themselves. Be the voice of the customer to internal facing teams.
- Test and validate assumptions by building and managing Early Adopter group
- Create and maintain referenceable customers
- Team Building and Culture:
- Build and grow a great product team – recruit, training, and coaching must be top priority.
- Value and grow team members based on their talents and passions, not a “one size fits all” job description.
- Help develop excellence across all groups in Product and Engineering – coaching and support of peers as well as other leaders that need extra support or show promise.
- Set standard for culture of respect, integrity, collaboration, and transparency.
You start from a place of curiosity with which to develop a deep understanding of our users and an appreciation of the technology involved. You have the ability to inspire our engineers to address the need, and the passion to help product marketing evangelize our solution.
What will make you successful in this role is your business sense. Your curiosity and instinct, which we know can play an important role in decision-making, should naturally align to business outcomes. You should be equally comfortable creating a scrappy wireframe as you are partnering with a product manager to create a full-on product vision. You should be excited to bring your favorite frameworks and processes to our agile team with an end to strengthening the product development and release lifecycle.
The corporate office is located in Bellevue, WA. This position is open to local and remote candidates anywhere in the US and Canada. The engineering team is distributed all over the world.
About You
You like puzzles and love data. Going from a customer need to a new technology to our platform is not always a straight path. You are energized by the idea of solving this puzzle and figuring out the best way to solve a user’s problem by building on what our platform has to offer today. You can design creative solutions while considering technical and business needs, requirements and trade-offs but stay firmly rooted in decisions based on data.
You prefer to lay out strategy and coach rather than micromanage. While you are curious enough to want to go deep when needed, you know your real path to success is coaching your team to deliver on a product vision. We trust our experts, and expect you to help your team determine the best course of action. You will be able to calmly and objectively deal with challenges. You are a self-starter that is as comfortable working with your team as you are working solo in times of deep thought.
Show and tell was your favorite school subject. As cool as technology and our solutions are, we really want to make sure that others can and will use them. You love talking ad nauseum about the solutions you help bring to market, and are driven by helping others in sales and marketing succeed to do the same.
You’re invigorated by your team. We want to create a team where members are free to take interpersonal risks, challenge each other’s assumptions, and help each other succeed. It’s not just about having “mandatory fun” at happy hours, it’s about wanting the best for each other.
